A federation of medical students, run by medical students.
IFMSA-Thailand is the Thai national member organization of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations — one of the world's oldest and largest student-run organizations.
The federation
IFMSA was founded in 1951 and today represents around 1.5 million medical students across 133 national member organizations in more than 120 countries. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, officially recognized by the World Health Organization and in official relations with the United Nations.
Each national member organization runs its own programs while participating in the federation's global work — general assemblies, regional meetings, policy development, and the exchange programs that move roughly 15,000 students across borders every year.
IFMSA-Thailand
IFMSA-Thailand is a federation of Local Committees based at medical schools across the country — from Chiang Mai to Songkhla — coordinated by a national Executive Board elected each term by the Local Committee Coordinators.
The organization is structured around five standing committees covering medical education, public health, sexual and reproductive health, human rights and peace, and technology and innovation — plus two exchange programs, SCORE for research and SCOPE for professional clinical exchange.
Everything the organization does is run by students. Projects are proposed, written, reviewed, funded, and delivered by medical students, with the national board providing the standards, systems, and support that make a project in one university comparable to a project in another.
Executive Board
How the organization is run.
The Executive Board is elected each term and holds the national portfolios. Each vice-president leads a department with its own officers and team.
President
Represents the organization nationally and internationally, and chairs the Executive Board.
VPI
Internal Affairs — standing committee coordination, project standards, and internal operations.
VPE
External Affairs — partnerships, external organizations, and representation.
VPX
Exchange — oversees both SCORE and SCOPE and the National Exchange Team.
VPF
Finance — budgets, project funding, reimbursements, and financial oversight.
VPAO
Administration & Organization — administration, data, technology, and quality assurance.
VPM
Members — Local Committee support, membership, and capacity building.
VPPR
Public Relations — communications, brand, and public-facing content.
